Our lodge hunts start the last week of October and run until the Sunday after Thanksgiving. This is the general season for Montana elk hunting. These hunts are less strenuous than the backcountry. The lodge is situated right above Deckard Flats, which is the main migratory route for the northern Yellowstone elk herd. We are surrounded by National Forest and just a 1/2 mile from the Yellowstone boundary. We hunt migrating elk as well as a healthy native herd. These guided hunts are 5 days in length. We take about 130 hunters a year. Our clients come back year after year and tell their friends about us. All of my hunters from my first few years in business are still hunting with us. We have taken several corporate clients, who use the elk hunt as an opportunity to reward employees or forge bonds with clients.
