The Gopher Plantation is located in the Southeast near Millwood, Georgia and is comprised of over 10,000 acres. The plantation offers diverse topography that provides an optimum wildlife habitat. Intensive management has created an abundance of wildlife seldom available to the public. It creates a touch of heaven to the hunter after being micromanaged for over 40 years and being commercial and open to the public for 25 plus years.

If this is a hunt you’ve always wanted to do but have never tried, you’ve found the right place. The Gopher Plantation hog hunting guides have fine-tuned their thermal hunts to guarantee an opportunity at free-range hogs every hunt.
We conduct all of our thermal hog hunts on over 10,000 privately owned acres. We not only hunt the agricultural fields we also hunt in the woods over our feed sources and food plots. The Gopher Plantation staff plants over 200 acres of food plots for wildlife. Not only do our deer and turkey benefit from this but also our wild hog population. It’s not uncommon to find 4-6 groups of hogs on a 3-hour thermal hunt with us all while literally hunting out of our back door. You can add hours to your thermal hog hunt and increase the shooting opportunities.
If you don’t have any thermal equipment for hog hunting at night, no problem we have you covered. We have 10 guns set up with Pulsar thermal scopes and suppressors at your disposal. The guides also have 3 sets of Pulsar thermal binoculars to spot hogs throughout your hunt. We also provide shooting sticks, snacks, and a cooler with drinks so literally all you have to do is show up. If you have your own thermal night hunting equipment or have picked up some new toys and need a place to use them, feel free to bring them on your hunt as well.

The Gopher Plantation offers Quail Hunting in Georgia and is located approximately 95 miles from the Jacksonville airport. This makes it very convenient if you’re looking to experience some of the finest quail hunting in the South within driving distance of a major airport. If you are pursuing the thrill of a bobwhite covey rise in plantation cut pines you’ve found the right place. It’s always exciting watching well trained bird dogs point a hidden covey. While you and your quail hunting guide make the approach, a flush dog waits anticipating the command to send the quail heavenward.
Our quail hunting guides are all equipped with the proper training and tools to provide a Southern plantation style quail hunt. While quail hunting at Gopher Plantation the guests can ride on our pull behind dog buggies equipped with bench seats on top. This set up allows the guest to get a bird’s eye view of the plantation on the way to the quail hunting courses. We have 5 quail hunting courses on the property, all of which are manicured and maintained each quail hunting season. Our largest quail hunting course is approximately 50 acres. The quail hunting courses boast beautiful plantation cut pines and great ground cover to offer great shooting opportunities when bobwhites are flushed. The Gopher Plantation crew has food plots planted in these quail hunting courses and sawtooth palmettos dot the landscape as well.

The Gopher Plantation offers Whitetail Deer Hunting in Georgia on over 8,000 private owned acres that spans over diverse habitats. There are over 100 tower stands strategically located throughout the hunting property. The deer hunting stands are all equipped with metal roofs to keep rain and other elements from mother nature off the hunters during their hunt. The rifle tower stands are all equipped range from 4’x4’ to 4’x6’ in size and are approximately 10’ high to the platform. Every tower hunting stand has office chairs to ensure a comfortable sit every hunt. Most of our tower stands are 4’x6’ and these deer hunting stands are great for sharing the hunt with family or a friend.
We also have permanent and pop-up ground blinds for hunters that physically can’t climb elevated stands. In the case of bow hunters there are ladder stands available and maintained each hunting season. We require a safety harness to whitetail deer hunt from ladder stands. Every deer hunting stand has a food plot and or a feed spot/feeder. These feed spots and feeders are fed year-round, not just during deer hunting season. The Gopher Plantation staff plants over 200 acres of food plots each year to ensure the whitetail have adequate feed throughout the season.

There is no better place than Georgia Hog Hunting if you are looking to try out a new rifle caliber, to introduce a young one into the sport of hunting, or you just like eating pork. Georgia hog hunting from a stand is an excellent choice. We have over 100 tower stands on property and there is a food plot and feed spot and or feeder at every hog hunting location. If you choose to do a stand hunt the guides will freshen up the feed spot when they drop you off, then get ready. We also take guys after deer season closes that want to stand hunt after the sun sets with night vision or thermal.
A typical day starts with the guide dropping the hunter off for a morning hunt before daybreak then returning when the guest has killed or is ready to come in for lunch. After lunch, the guest will then be dropped off again at a different spot or where the guide thinks the hunter has the best chance for success. The guide will then pick up the guest at dark or let them sit depending on whether they are day or night hunting for hogs.

We offer 3 scheduled Quail and Duck Combination Hunts per hunting season. Normally we do the first scheduled quail and duck combination hunt on the second Saturday in December. The second and third quail and duck combination hunts are normally scheduled for early and late January. If you get lucky enough to get a spot on one of these quail and duck combination hunts you will be in for a treat if you like wing shooting. Years of waterfowl management normally produce an abundance of birds. Most hunters limit out on wood ducks while picking up some additional ducks and geese in certain areas. This quail and duck combination hunt includes lodging and supper the night before the scheduled combination hunt. The hunting guides will meet with the guest and confirm what time to meet in the main lodge for coffee and a continental breakfast.

The Gopher Plantation offers Quail Hunting in Georgia and is located approximately 95 miles from the Jacksonville airport. This makes it very convenient if you’re looking to experience some of the finest quail hunting in the South within driving distance of a major airport. If you are pursuing the thrill of a bobwhite covey rise in plantation cut pines you’ve found the right place. It’s always exciting watching well trained bird dogs point a hidden covey. While you and your quail hunting guide make the approach, a flush dog waits anticipating the command to send the quail heavenward.
Our quail hunting guides are all equipped with the proper training and tools to provide a Southern plantation style quail hunt. While quail hunting at Gopher Plantation the guests can ride on our pull behind dog buggies equipped with bench seats on top. This set up allows the guest to get a bird’s eye view of the plantation on the way to the quail hunting courses. We have 5 quail hunting courses on the property, all of which are manicured and maintained each quail hunting season. Our largest quail hunting course is approximately 50 acres. The quail hunting courses boast beautiful plantation cut pines and great ground cover to offer great shooting opportunities when bobwhites are flushed. The Gopher Plantation crew has food plots planted in these quail hunting courses and sawtooth palmettos dot the landscape as well.

A guided spot and stalk hog hunt consists of 1 hunter on 1 guide or 2 hunters on 1 guide in the spot and stalk scenarios. The hunting preserve area is approximately 300 acres so be prepared for a little walking. There are stands and ambush points the guides can direct you to if a hunter isn’t physically able to walk. This is a challenging hog hunt that is great for introducing young or inexperienced hunters to the outdoors. The hog hunting guides will help teach guests how to maneuver through the woods undetected on well-worn game trails and the hog hunters will learn how to use the wind and patience on approach. We provide shooting sticks for rifle hunters. We allow hunters to choose their weapon of choice.
While on a typical spot and stalk hog hunt your guide will predetermine a time for continental breakfast at the main lodge and then depart shortly afterward for the hunting grounds. We have had multiple hogs taken over the years on the way to the hunting location so the hunter could experience an added bonus. Once arriving to their hog hunting spots, the guide will then lead the way and help you stalk into your competent shooting range. This hog hunt is also great for large parties of hunters. The guides will safely divide the hunting area into zones and communicate together to help track moving boar and hopefully ensure success for their clients. After the hunt, the guides will load the hog or hogs and take them back to our processing facility so the meat can be prepared for transport or placed into our walk-in coolers until time for departure.

The Gopher Plantation staff plants over 200 acres of food plots for wildlife. Not only do our deer and turkey benefit from this but also our wild hog population. It’s not uncommon to find 4-6 groups of hogs on a 3-hour thermal hunt with us all while literally hunting out of our back door. You can add hours to your thermal hog hunt and increase the shooting opportunities.
