Listing Update: Passed the 700-Hunt Milestone by Adding ~50 New Hunts in the Northeast!
Updates This Week: Added Some Great New England Hunts
We added 7 new outfitters covering 5 new states (primarily Connecticut and Delaware), 47 new hunts, and quite a few new species of diver ducks. Plus, a bonus, we added a top-notch South Florida reptile outfitter offering python and iguana hunting (with dogs) along with alligator hunts on public or private land using a mixture of airboats, harpoons, airguns, and modern rifles for these hunts. Only in Florida...
Back to new England: as we work to build our hunting database we were tempted to skip these small, less-prominent hunting states. After all, our competition skipped them (see screenshot below).

But HuntGuidePro is committed to being the most comprehensive database of guided hunts in the United States, so we are excited to list 3 outfitters from CT and 3 from DE this week. There is an incredible variety of hunting styles across the country, and nothing about a big game chase in Arizona makes it more legit than a goose or deer hunt in New England. We simply want to build a marketplace where hunting experiences of all types can be found.
Newly Added Delaware Hunts & Outfitters Offer Excellent Goose & Duck Hunting:
Delaware is the second smallest state. Even so, there are ways and places to hunt! Clearly a state this size is going to have more limitations than, say, Colorado, but we found 3 outfitters who offer primarily waterfowl. One of them also has a 500 acre hunting preserve that also offers turkey and white-tailed deer.
- Kevin Popo runs one-man guide service so he can give every client his person, undivided attention.
- Kevin is a two-time champ World Goose Calling Champion (2001 and 2002)
- He offers Canada Goose, Snow Goose, and puddle duck hunting on private farms and impoundments in Delaware, New Jersey, and Maryland
- He offers six different hunts, each only $175, which is a great day hunting rate and worth a look!
- A serious snow goose outfitter in Delaware and Maryland.
- They have leased over 70 farms in the two states and scout across 7 counties for each hunting party. John Fairbain puts in the work to make sure clients are successful on their goose hunts.
- Half day hunts cost only $250
- 500+ acre hunting preserve near Smyrna, DE.
- Offer non-members opportunities to hunt Mourning Doves over sunflower fields for $200 and a lodging-included turkey hunt from stands for $2,500.
- White-tailed deer and waterfowl hunting are also options, but require membership in the club, which costs $2,900 for deer or $3,300 for waterfowl.
Newly Added Connecticut Hunts & Outfitters Offer Upland Bird, Deer, Turkey, and Duck Opportunities:
Connecticut is the third smallest state. At only 5,543 square miles, there are only two states that are smaller (Delaware and Rhode Island). Because of its small size and its high population density, Connecticut has only a few guided hunting opportunities.
- A beautiful 300 acre private hunting preserve in the Eastern half of the state.
- Has 8 hunts including upland bird, turkey, deer, and waterfowl.
- Their upland hunts are released bird with prices ranging from $400 for 6 birds up to $1,760 for 36 birds. These are half half day hunts.
- The goose hunts are over fields. Prices range from $150 for a single hunter, up to $550 to rent the whole blind, which can accommodate up to 5 hunters.
- Deer and turkey hunts are $350 per day and are conducted from stands or blinds over fields.
- Another hunting preserve: family owned, 300 acres, in Danielson - also the Eastern part of the state.
- Exclusively an upland bird outfit: offering both Pheasant and Chukar.
- Hunts can be either over dogs for a very affordable $220 or $260 per day, depending what type of bird is chosen.
- Alternatively, Markover offers a European-Style tower shoot, which includes lunch. The price isn't disclosed on the website, but HuntGuidePro is happy to check pricing or check availability on your behalf.
- This guide is different than the first two. It is services offered by a passionate outdoorsman and educated professional in the outdoors.
- Justin offers guided deer, turkey, puddle duck, and sea duck trips.
- These aren't going to be all inclusive guided hunts with lots of amenities, but they do seem to be heavy on education and helping a hunter get on animals.
- His prices are very affordable with half day trips priced at $350 and full days at $475.
Bonus This Week: Heading South to Florida for Python & Iguana Hunting...With Dogs!
What better name than Python Cowboy for this south Florida snake-focused outfitter. Guide, Mike Kimmel, has mastered the use of tracking dogs to root out big pythons on the many islands of the Everglades. Mike is the first outfitter that we've seen who uses dogs for these hunts. He boasts high success rates as a result. This outfitter also offers alligator (public and private land) and hog hunts (nighttime thermal or daytime with knife or other weapon). Iguana hunts are also available, which are both lots of fun and good for the environment. For a quality Florida outfitter, check out Python Cowboy!
- Python and Iguana hunts are $1,550 and last 4-5 hours accompanied by dogs.
- Hog hunts are on private land and are $1,100, and include 2 hogs.
- Public land Everglades hunts are with draw tag only, and are $3,000 with two nights of lodging included.
- Private land gator hunts are offered at any time of year with prices ranging depending on size: starting with $1,900 for a 7-8' animal and going up to $5,750 for an 11'+ gator.
