Newly Added Idaho Outfitters & Hunts for Elk, Mule Deer, Pronghorn, Moose, Mountain Lion, Black Bear, and Bighorn Sheep

We added 3 new outfitters in Idaho. In total these outfitters offer 29 hunts. These hunts are offered in units 25, 33, 40, 42, 54, and 66.

Juniper Mountain Outfitters

• Operates in units 25, 33, 40, and 42.
• Been in business since 1986.
• Offer elk, mule deer, mountain lion, black bear, and bighorn sheep hunts.
• Hunts are offered from tent camps accessed via horseback. Hunters go out on food each day.
• Elk hunts can be either 1x1 for $7,000 or 2x1 for $5,000.
• They also have an outfitter allocated elk and mule deer tags in units 40 or 42 for $8,000. In Idaho, certain outfitters are allocated tags that are theirs to sell.
• The over-the-counter bear hunt with hounds is an interesting option at only $3,500. The same hunt without hounds is only $2,800.
• There is also a 5-day unlimited tag archery antelope hunt for only $2,000.

‍Deadline Outfitters

• Deadline is the exclusive outfitter in unit 54.
• They offer elk, mule deer, antelope, moose, and mountain lion.
• Deadline is a husband/wife team with a nice lodge and a passion for what they do.
• They have a number of outfitter allocated tags. Inquire with the outfitter or use HuntGuidePro to inquire on your behalf about which hunts include these allocated tags and which ones require a draw.
• The only OTC tag is mountain lion, with pricing not advertised.
• Advertised prices are all for 1x1 and all for 5 days, except pronghorn, which is for 3 days.
• Elk 1x1 guided hunt pricing is $9,000.
• Mule deer 1x1 guided hunt pricing is $6,500.
• Moose 1x1 guided hunt pricing is $12,500.
• Pronghorn 1x1 guided hunt pricing (3-day) is $4,500.

Saddle Horn Outfitters

• Saddle Horn operates in Idaho unit 66.
• They do horse pack-in hunts. Jesse, the owner, emphasized the need for physical strength given they ride in sometimes as much as 8 hours on horseback.
• They offer a dozen hunts including elk, mule deer, moose, and black bear (no pronghorn or mountain lion).
• Their most affordable hunt is an OTC tag cow elk hunt for $3,250.
• Saddle Horn also offers a semi-guided 5-day elk and deer hunt for $3,850 (meals not provided) and a drop camp for $2,250.
