Updates This Week: Added Multiple California Outfitters and Guided Hunts

This week the HGP team added 5 California outfitters to the platform along with a combined 47 hunts from those outfitters. These hunts include a wide range of hunting styles and species: Rio Grande Turkey, Merriam's Turkey, Tule Elk, Roosevelt Elk, Rocky Mountain Elk, Black-Tailed Deer, Mule Deer, Wild Hog, multiple upland birds (Band-Tailed Pigeon, Sooty Grouse, Mountain Quail, Ruffed Grouse), Pronghorn Antelope, Black Bear, Western Grey Squirrel, Grey Fox, and Coyote.

What Stood Out to Us in This Week's Added Hunts:

A big part of HuntGuidePro is the nearly 20 filters that let hunters explore all of the options that this great country has to offer. We were pleased this year to add a new option in our "Transportation Method" filter: Llamas. Trinity Fork Outfitters offers multiple hunts that involve llama pack-in to the wilderness.

This week's update also includes species that are brand-new to the platform: Band-Tailed Pigeon and Sooty Grouse. California has a wide range of upland bird options. We are just getting started.

Quick Profile of the 5 California Outfitters That We Added:

Trinity Fork Outfitters

• Offers 29 free-range hunts, almost all on public land in Northern California.
• What we like is that there are great opportunities for combo hunts when including their big game with small game, predator, or upland bird (i.e. mule deer + band-tailed pigeon).

Bitterwater Outfitters

• This is a Texas-style fenced hunt ranch offering 20+ species including exotics.
• Prices aren't listed on the website, but HuntGuidePro would be happy to check pricing and availability on your behalf.

2M Hunting

• Offers free-range hunts on private ranches.
• Species offered include Tule Elk (contact for pricing), Black-Tailed Deer ($2,500 - $5,000 with lodging included), wild hog ($1,000- $2,250 with lodging), and Rio Grande Wild Turkey ($1,000 with lodging).

360 Ranch

• This is another Texas-style fenced ranch.
• Primarily a pig hunting ranch, but they also offer black-tailed deer and coyote.
• What we love about this ranch is that they offer an affordable $1,200 pig hunt and you can bring your own RV or tent to camp. They also have options to use their very nice lodge. There are plenty of pictures on their website, so take a look.

Backcountry Hunting Guides

• This highly experienced outfitter offers pack-in horseback hunts in the Trinity Alps wilderness of Northern California.
• Hunts involve traveling 5-18 miles on horses, setting up in tents, and then day-hunting 3-5 miles from camp each day.
• Hunts offered include Black-Tailed Deer and Black Bear.
• Prices are not listed on the website. Use HuntGuidePro to check pricing and availability on your behalf.
• One thing to know about this hunt is that food is not provided. Hunters need to bring their own.
• Backcountry Hunting Guides also offers a drop camp option, which can be great for the experienced hunter who just needs a tent, and to to get in and get out.
