Hunt Southern Oregon for Rio Grande Turkey on the best ranches Douglas County has to offer. We manage over 25,000 acres to ensure your success. Spring turkey hunts take place from April 15th to May 31st. We almost always fill with our repeat guests, so book your hunts early. Hunts are all-inclusive and include lodging and dinner the night before your hunt, guiding, and turkey care. Not included are your license and tag, and transportation to Eugene or Roseburg.
Fin’s and Feather’s Guide Service is going on its 15th season guiding Rio Grande Turkey’s on some of the best ranches in Douglas County. In fact, Bob Toman, a Fin’s and Feather’s Guest harvested the number one Rio Grande Turkey in the State of Oregon in 2003. Our turkey hunts include meals, lodging, and field dressing. Each afternoon your guide will roost a flock of birds. The following morning you will arrive at the roost for a prime chance at your turkey. Should this hunt be unsuccessful you will spend the remainder of the day setting up and calling. You will not be asked to sit in a blind all morning or afternoon unless requested. Your guides are very accommodating and will strive to make your time with us a very memorable one. If you have any requests just ask and it shall be done.
Your stay with Fins and Feathers guide service will take place at the “ranch house”. The 4 bedroom 3 bath home is nestled in some of the most beautiful country that Douglas County has to offer. In the spring the surrounding hills and pastures are covered in fresh green grass. Oak trees covered in moss line the road to the lodge, among them you will find blooming daffodils in the spring and fall brings an array of autumn colors. No matter what season it is the setting is beautiful. The house has two televisions, one in the family room and the other in the master bedroom. The master bedroom has a separate entrance, deck, and hot tub.
Each morning a guide will wake you up and let you know how much time you have until your departure. Ronnie, Craig’s mom, or Becky, will do the majority of the cooking during your stay. Occasionally the staff at Applebee’s pitches in. Breakfast will be available along with coffee and other beverages. Meals are flexible and we do our best to accommodate your taste. Lunch is always available; however it will not always be served at the house. If you are with us during Turkey season we may be eating in town at lunch time because a lot of the hunting leases are a bit of a drive from the house. Dinner will be served each evening when your hunt is complete.
The house has two family rooms, one with the television and the other a fireplace and two couches. Everyone here at the house strives to make your stay a lasting memory. We all enjoy what we do and getting to know all our guests. If you find pleasure in walking, the roads on the ranch will be sure to satisfy you.

In 1967 the Columbia Whitetail was put on the Federal Endangered Species list. Now for the first time in over 30 years, you can legally hunt the Columbia Whitetail!! Complete your updated North American Whitetail slam with the harvest of a Columbia Whitetail. We will be hunting four ranches, and only six tags are available. Don’t miss your chance to harvest this deer. Numbers are very good, and you will have a 100% opportunity to harvest a deer.
The Columbia Whitetail hunts have been a very large success. Please visit the photo gallery to see the deer we have taken in the two-season we have been able to hunt this very rare North American Deer. The four-day Whitetail hunt includes your landowner tag, lodging and food, and one on one guide. Your license and tag fee to the state of Oregon are not included.

This year Craig and I decided to expand our usual hunting season and species. Fall and Spring Black Bear is definitely not something that either one of us has mastered. So as an introductory hunt we are offering it at a reduced price per day and kill fee. The kill fee does not change with the size of the bear.
In the Spring Black Bears here in Oregon spend a lot of time grazing the south-facing slopes, eating skunk cabbage, and other easily accessible food sources. The warmer weather in the spring tends to bring them out in a hurry, one day they aren’t there and the next they are. The spring hunt will be very dependent on the weather as are most hunts regardless of the species. More than 75% of the hunting will be conducted on public ground. Douglas and Coos County have high bear populations and the chances of you harvesting a nice mature bear are good. In the fall the hunting will be focused again around their easily accessible food sources such as salmonberries and blackberries.

On this hunt we will spend time on public and private land. You will have the choice of how you would like to hunt. In the fall Craig and I will spend a lot of time out scouting and setting up tree stands and blinds. On top of stand and blind hunting, we will also be doing spot and stalk hunting.
Oregon offers some of the best Blacktail hunting available, this time of year is always exciting and full of action as the deer will be rutting around. Fall Black Bear is during the same time as late archery Blacktail season so you will have the choice of hunting one or the other or both bucks and bears.
