These hunts are rugged, covering volcanic landscapes, steep mountains, dense jungles, and coastal areas. Hunting is available on all of the major islands generally with no bag limits and no seasons. The huntable species are descendants of domestic animals brought by Europeans and Polynesians and then released into the wild. With no natural predators, these animals have flourished. The primary species available in Hawaii include Axis Deer, turkey, wild hog, Mouflon sheep, feral goats, Vancouver Bulls (feral cattle) and several others. These are all technically invasive. Hunting helps balance the ecosystem and protect the native plants and animals. These hunts are a great addition to a Hawaii vacation. The primary method is primarily spot and stalk. While the animals are dense, they can also be wary, which makes for a challenging and exciting hunt on the truly unique topography of Hawaii.

On the Island of Molokai we have about 30,000 Axis Deer. Axis deer can be a difficult animal to hunt. Desmund Manaba, land manager and guide for GHO describes the axis deer as a triple threat. Mouflon Sheep, Mouflon Hybrid Sheep, Pigs, and Goats are available for harvest on Parker Ranch guided hunting tours. The hunt fee allows you to harvest all 3 big game species. Ram and Billy trophy fees apply. Firearms and ammunition are provided free of charge. Archery hunters will need to provide their own equipment. Lunch, drinks, and snacks are provided. Mouflon and Mouflon Hybrid Mouflon Sheep are the most prized mammal species on the island of Hawaii. They have exceptional eyesight and an awareness to stay just beyond the effective distances of Archery or Rifle Hunting. Trophy rams have been harvested with horns above 35 inches in length. One ram is allowed per hunt with trophy fees for rams above 25 inches of horn length. Smaller rams below 25 inches of horn length carry the standard harvest fee.
Goats have made a home for themselves on all parts of the island. They tend to be less wary than Mouflon Sheep making them an easier target via bow. One Billy is allowed per hunt. Large males can have impressive sweeps and curls in their horns with long beards and heavily muscled front quarters. The standard $500 harvest fee applies for a Billy up to 30″ of horn length. A Billy above 30″ of horn length will carry a trophy fee that replaces the harvest fee.
Frequently nocturnal in nature, pigs on Parker Ranch can routinely be spotted feeding during cool periods of the day allowing for pigs to be harvested with a bow or rifle via spot and stalk. Boars have been harvested with knife like sharpened tusks bright white in color and over 5 inches in length. Course hair, sharp tusks, a protective shield, and their aggressive demeanor make for an exciting hunt.

Molokai’s rugged terrain is home for a few different species of goats which originated from Southeast Asia and Europe. In the early 1700’s, goats were transported off the Spaniards shipwrecked boats off the coast of Hawaii and other species brought in by Westerners. Like the pigs, these Spanish goats were all domesticated at one time. Through the years, they have adapted to different environments around Hawaii. There are over 300 species of goats in world today, and they continue to evolve depending on their environment. On Molokai, these wild goats have genetically blended into a few different shapes of trophies. Some of these goats throw horns better known as ibex goats, and others carry more of the wide twisted turns. Axis deer are estimated to exceed 50,000 in total on Maui. The population is so large that island residents have difficulty protecting the island's natural and precious ecosystems. Hunting Axis deer is a sustainable practice that helps conserve the beauty and abundance of Maui's plants and other wildlife.
All deer hunts can last up to 2 days. The hunt will end when (1) the hunter reaches the quota of deer as allotted by the selected plan, or (2) the hunt exceeds 2 days. An extra day of hunting for all hunt packages will be an additional charge. Extra hunting days will include all regular services.

The descendants of these animals animals have been living wild in the dense pockets of rainforest on Mauna Loa ever since. Vancouver bulls are Hawaii's dangerous game. The Hawaiian Islands are known for their beautiful lush forest with an abundance of Hawaiian exotic plants and animals. The forest has also been a home for a few different species of wild boar. History has been told that the pua’a or pig was brought to Hawaii by Captain Cook, as a walking food substance for their journey in the late 1700’s. Through the years, these pigs have been genetically altered by breeding with other species that were introduced to the islands. In the past, the pigs caught show some of these different genetic traits. Wild pigs cause extreme damage to Hawaii’s rainforest eco-system. Hunters help keep the wild pig population under control by eradication. We offer some of the best hog hunting in the Hawaiian Islands. All of these hunts take place on private land (cattle ranches). We hunt hogs from a treestand, ground blind, or spot stalk method--whichever you prefer or based on your capability.
HOW GOOD IS THE HOG HUNTING?: We measure our success based on the opportunity we provide our hunters at game that is in range and a reasonable shot for them to take. You can figure that the average hunter will encounter around 6 hogs during a one day hunt. This does not mean that you will see 6 hogs on your hunt and we do not guarantee the amount of game that you will see. It simply means this is the average per hunter. Some hunters will see 12 or more, some 8, some 4, and on a rare occasion 1 or none. However the average during the season is around 6 hogs per hunt. Hunters physical condition and ability can also factor in the amount of game they will see and what they harvest. Make no mistake you have an excellent chance at harvesting a great hog. As a bonus, we allow you to harvest 2 hogs during your hunt as well!

Feral boars were introduced to the Hawaiian Islands in the 18th century by the island's first Polynesians, although some believe they were introduced by Captain Cook. Boars can survive in any terrain and condition, from tropical rainforest to high mountain deserts. They tend to move during the night and cool parts of the day. They have no natural predators and, if not hunted, will explode in population. Farmers are most impacted by the large boar population which eats the livestock feed and plows down crops. Feral boars can be extremely aggressive and are usually hunted with dogs.

The Spring Turkey Hunt for wild Rio Grande Turkey runs from March 1st to April 15th. The hunt fee allows the harvest of a single Tom by each hunter. Additional Toms may be purchased by either or both hunters. The state limit is 3 Toms per hunter and all 3 can be harvested in the same day. We recommend you purchase 3 tags each from Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources which gives you the option to bag out.

Purebred Mouflon Sheep are considered the most highly prized game mammal on the Island of Hawaii. They live in rough lava flows at high elevation on the slope of Mauna Loa volcano. Nahele Outfitters offers one of the last opportunities to hunt trophy free range mouflon rams on the Big Island. We manage the population very closely and offer a limited number of hunts per year to ensure maximum opportunities for our hunters.
Overnight hunts are based out of a cabin at 6,000 feet elevation on Mauna Loa Volcano. It's in a prime location in the middle of some of the best hunting country on the Big Island. Axis deer or Chital deer is one of the most popular game mammals to hunt in Hawaii. If you want an extreme challenge, Axis deer hunting is the way to go. They can see, hear and sense you from a distance, and will run circles around you.
In the 1860s, Axis deer were introduced to the island of Molokai, Hawaii as a gift from Hong Kong to King Kamehameha V. The deer were introduced to Lanai, another of the Hawaiian Islands, soon afterward and are now plentiful on both islands. These animals are very clean and do not have fleas or ticks. Studies have shown that they have never been found with diseases that threatened their species. They have also been found to heal themselves from bullet wounds and injuries. The Axis deer known for their beautiful white spotted cape and dark colored horns make the deer popular game to hunt in Hawaii. In the culinary world, Axis deer is popular for its high quality meat, and raised in Florida and Texas.
HOW GOOD IS THE AXIS DEER HUNTING?: We measure our success based on the opportunity we provide our hunters at game that is in range and a reasonable shot for them to take. You can figure that the average hunter will encounter around 8 shooter Axis bucks during a one day hunt. This does not mean that you will see 8 shooters on your hunt and we do not guarantee the amount of game that you will see. It simply means this is the average per hunter. Some hunters will see 12 shooter bucks or more, some 4, and on a rare occasion 1 or none. However the average during the season is around 8 shooter bucks per hunt. Hunters may see 30-50 Axis deer during their 1 day hunt. HOWEVER SOME OF OUR HUNTERS MAY ENCOUNTER 400 or more axis deer during their hunt! Hunters physical condition and ability can also factor in the amount of deer they will see and what they harvest. Make no mistake you have an excellent chance at harvesting a great Axis deer. You are allows to harvest 1 buck and 1 doe. Antler size (length of the longest main beam) range from 20" to 36" or more!
Hunting Method: We hunt Axis deer from a treestand, ground blind, or spot stalk method--whichever you prefer or based on your capability.
