Gambel's Quail

Gambel's Quail (Callipepla gambelii) is a captivating game bird native to the arid regions of the Southwestern United States and parts of Mexico. This small, plump quail is distinguished by its strikingly intricate plumage, featuring soft gray and brown tones accented by bold black and white markings, including a distinctive crescent-shaped crest atop its head. Notably, the males exhibit a striking black throat patch, while females present a more subdued coloration.
