Half-Day Pheasant & Quail Hunt
We hunt both quail and pheasant on our upland bird hunts. From traditional quail hunting to our European Pheasant hunts, we are able to offer a variety of hunting styles that will test shooting skills.
Our traditional hunts will take you through planted pine plantations, hardwood bottomland, and agricultural fields with an experienced guide and well seasoned bird dogs. We offer half-day, full day, and Lodge Upland Hunts that are all inclusive. We require a minimum of 4 hunters and can accommodate up to 8 on the Lodge Upland Hunts.

Our hunting guides and hunters can find this game bird in weed patches, grassy meadows, at the edges of woodlands, and of course in grain fields. We manage our property to optimize the habitat for wildlife, creating the perfect setting for epic pheasant hunting year after year. When it comes to shooting in Alabama landscapes provide seeds, berries, fruits, shoots, insects, crops, and a variety of the wild plants and cover that pheasants need to survive and thrive.

Pheasant shooting over a dog is an art form in itself, and our lodge wants to give all of its guests the opportunity to experience it. 400-Bird Tower Pheasant Shoot
Tower Shoots offer the excitement of being in a group setting while enjoying live bird shooting! 400 Ringneck pheasants will be released from an elevated tower surrounded by 10 two person shooting stations. Hunters will rotate clockwise every 40 birds to ensure fair opportunity.
Birds on the wing fly over at tree top level without warning to provide the ultimate in tower shooting. The price of the hunt includes a day of wing shooting, gourmet lunch with assorted wines and beer, and cleaning and packaging of your birds. While it would be easy to plant vast fields of grasses and walk away, we know from 50 years of hunting experience that those types of simplistic approaches to creating cover don't work. That's why our main focus at Markover is the careful planning, executing and maintaining rich cover to create the diverse conditions of our hunting fields that generations of hunters have come to expect and enjoy.

Upland Bird + Waterfowl Combination Hunt in Montana
We think this is the most fun you can have with your pants on! Rain, snow, or sunshine we will have a great hunting option and that’s why these hunts are so productive! Our all inclusive 3 day combo hunt provides you with food, lodging and travel to/from the field. This hunt is action packed.
We provide you with coffee and doughnuts in the morning before escorting you to the field where you will be hunting ducks or geese. Your guides will have the decoy spread setup and waiting for you so all you have to do is jump in the blinds and shoot. Once your morning hunt is over we will pick you back up and take you to camp for brunch. After you change clothes and switch gear, we head out to spend the rest of the day upland hunting for Sharptail, Pheasants, and the occasional Hungarian Partridge. After an action packed day of wing shooting we head back to camp for cocktails and dinner. This is a fabulous way to experience all Montana has to offer!

European-Style Tower Shoot, Lunch Provided
While the majority of our hunts are behind pointing or flushing dogs, tower shoots, or continental shoots, are also very popular at Markover. Twelve stations, or buts, are positioned at various distances surrounding the central tower. Each station, containing 2 shooters, is arranged to keep the visibility of the tower at a bare minimum, if at all.
Birds are released from the central tower, 6-7 at a time, and fly full speed over the tree tops creating an extremely challenging shot for even the most seasoned shooter.
The shooters rotate stations after an equal number of birds have been released so that everyone has an opportunity to shoot at that day's hot stations.
Halfway through the day we break for a hearty lunch at the lodge. Following lunch we head back to the fields for the remaining afternoon portion of the shoot.
Springers, Labs and Goldens along with their handlers retrieve the downed birds as the shoot progresses.
All birds are evenly divided between the shooters at the end of the day and can be traded for cleaned birds for a small fee.

We hunt both quail and pheasant on our upland bird hunts. From traditional quail hunting to our European Pheasant hunts, we are able to offer a variety of hunting styles that will test shooting skills.
Our traditional hunts will take you through planted pine plantations, hardwood bottomland, and agricultural fields with an experienced guide and well seasoned bird dogs. We offer half-day, full day, and Lodge Upland Hunts that are all inclusive. We require a minimum of 4 hunters and can accommodate up to 8 on the Lodge Upland Hunts.
