Our rocky mountain elk hunts are featured in the heart of Arizona. Hunters need to be prepared to endure all possible weather conditions. It is important that clients be in good physical hiking condition to endure the Arizona terrain and to gain that edge to connect with your trophy bull.
The average bull scores 300+ inches up to 400 inches depending on time frame of the season and unit. We only hunt for big mature bulls with the great possibility of harvesting a Pope and Young in the respected trophy units in Arizona. You will be given the same professional service no matter what the time frame is or the unit you will be hunting in.
During September, in the peak of the rut, we feature our archery trip in search of heavy antler bulls. Your hunt will take place in the heart of bull elk country as well as the high desert terrain, consisting of sage brush & cedar trees. We hunt within a vast terrains with in the state of surrounding forest include ponderosa pines, pinion pines, juniper, as well as the vast open cedar sections. Primarily in the respectable trophy units around northern & eastern units being within Arizona.

In the eastern part of the San Luis Valley, located in GMU 82, The Great Sand Dunes National Preserve offers 32,000 acres of over-crowed elk also known as the “sand dunes herd”. On this hunt, you will be packing in horseback and staying in a tent with wood stove. Hunting packages are available for archery and rifle. Hunts are fully guided for 5 days, but plan on arriving a day or two early to get into the base camp and staying a day later if wanting to hunt the full 5 days. Our guided pack-in sand dune hunts will take place in prime country for trophy bull elk. Elevation ranges between 8,500-12,000 feet in the sand dunes. These areas typically contain aspen groves and deep drainages. Our pack-in camps reside in several different locations . The base camps are off the grid and anywhere from a two to eight hour horseback ride. Once you arrive to the spike camp, hunting will be done mainly on foot everyday. A day on this hunt begins with your guides cooking breakfast, starting fires, and prepping gear for the day. After which, you will begin to head to the hunting location at where you will spend most of the day. After hunting hours are over, you will return back to base camp where dinner will be prepared depending on the pack in it could be quick prepared food.

Although we specialize in fully guided hunts, we do offer drop camps. This camp includes one large wall tent per every four hunters for a total of five (5) nights. We offer elk hunting primarily on the Coconino National Forest with Flagstaff being the closest major city (sometimes other areas on a case by case basis). The most popular elk hunting timeframe is during the rutting season when bulls and cows are vocal. We conduct an archery rut hunt from mid to late September and an early firearms/muzzleloader rut hunt at the end of September through early October. This is the main part of the rut, so there is usually nonstop action on these hunts. Bulls can fall victim to a call during this timeframe. Nothing gets the blood pumping more than hearing a monster bull elk answer your guide's calls. If luck is on your side, the bull might come charging in for an opportunity to release an arrow.
Our archery and early muzzleloader or early rifle elk hunts are conducted mostly in higher timber elevations of 7000 to 8500 ft. Even though hunting is done in September and October, the weather during these hunts are very enjoyable. It can range from 65-75 degrees in the day to 35-45 degrees at night. Complimentary accommodations are in tent camps or camping trailer, depending upon the number of hunters in camp and feasibility. The camp and the hunt area is accessed by SUV or truck and hunting is done on foot. In most cases, elk live in mountainous terrain, so hunters should be physically prepared. Hunters are encouraged to condition themselves to the best of their ability in order to increase their odds for success. If you are looking for a horseback hunt, this is NOT the hunt for you. These three early hunts are placed during the rut when elk are vocal.

Your stay with Fins and Feathers guide service will take place at the “ranch house”. The 4 bedroom 3 bath home is nestled in some of the most beautiful country that Douglas County has to offer. In the spring the surrounding hills and pastures are covered in fresh green grass. Oak trees covered in moss line the road to the lodge, among them you will find blooming daffodils in the spring and fall brings an array of autumn colors. No matter what season it is the setting is beautiful. The house has two televisions, one in the family room and the other in the master bedroom. The master bedroom has a separate entrance, deck, and hot tub.
Each morning a guide will wake you up and let you know how much time you have until your departure. Ronnie, Craig’s mom, or Becky, will do the majority or the cooking during your stay. Occasionally the staff at Applebee’s pitches in. Breakfast will be available along with coffee and other beverages. Meals are flexible and we do our best to accommodate your taste. Lunch is always available; however it will not always be served at the house. If you are with us during Turkey season we may be eating in town at lunch time because a lot of the hunting leases are a bit of a drive from the house. Dinner will be served each evening when your hunt is complete.
The house has two family rooms one with the television and the other a fireplace and two couches. Everyone here at the house strives to make your stay a lasting memory. We all enjoy what we do and getting to know all our guests. If you find pleasure in walking, the road’s on the ranch will be sure to satisfy you.

This is a unique hunt on private land where hunts are conducted out of 4x4 trucks, making it feasible for elderly folks or those with difficulty walking.
We have been operating out of our Candy Dan Camp for over 25 years. Constructed on the private ranch we hunt, located some 65 miles south of Great Falls, our base camp consists of a newly constructed cook house built in 2013, equipped with a full kitchen, buffet table, couches, hot and cold water, and a custom dining table for up to 12 hunters, three cabins for sleeping quarters for the hunters, a sauna house, and sleeping quarters for the guides. Camp is equipped with propane heat, electricity in all cabins, a full shower/sauna, and WIFI!
DL Elk Outfitters conducts guided rifle elk hunts on over 70,000 private acres in the Big Belt Mountains in central Montana. These private lands are home to some of Montana’s largest resident elk herds. We are not dependent on migrations or heavy snows to push the elk out of areas we cannot hunt, giving our hunters a high chance of success. The country is rich in large grass meadows for feed to ridges and draws of timber, making excellent habitat. Elk hunters access the hunting areas by 4-wheel drive vehicles and hiking to vantage spots and glassing for bull elk. (No horses or pack strings here.)
Only bull elk with brow tines are legal in our area to harvest, and that means 5, 6, and 7 point bulls are the norm here rather than the exception. Elk hunters average glassing more than 100 elk per week on our hunts. Mule Deer and Whitetail Deer are available on all elk hunts and make for a great combo. Our hunting leases, comfortable cabins, elevations under 6500 feet, and 4-wheel drive access make this an area any hunter, regardless of age or physical condition, can hunt. Our rifle elk hunts are all guided, 2 hunters per guide unless prior arrangements are made. Elk and deer licenses are on a draw basis and have to be applied for to the state of Montana by March 15. Draw rates in recent years have been 100%.

The elk in our territory are Rocky Mountain Elk, which have the largest antlers of any subspecies of elk. These elk can be hunted with rifle or bow, with a guide or on your own.
The elk in this area live in varied environments from ravines and gullies to clearcuts and meadows. They are adaptable animals, living in every area in our hunting territory. Depending on the season, they may be living deep in the mountains, making for an engaging and involved hunting experience, or they may be located minutes from camp.
September is archery elk hunting season, getting you up close and personal with these great animals. The weather is agreeable in September, ranging from the high 30s at night to around 75F during the day. You'll need to bring your rain gear just in case, there are often several days of rain during September.
October - November is rifle elk hunting season, which includes our horse camp guided hunts and our lodge guided hunts. This month is chilly, with temperatures in the low 20s to the high 50s. Bring your cold-weather gear, these hunts are a late autumn adventure you don't want to miss.

We offer elk hunting primarily on the Coconino National Forest with Flagstaff being the closest major city (sometimes other areas on a case by case basis). The most popular elk hunting timeframe is during the rutting season when bulls and cows are vocal. We conduct an archery rut hunt from mid to late September and an early firearms/muzzleloader rut hunt at the end of September through early October. This is the main part of the rut, so there is usually nonstop action on these hunts. Bulls can fall victim to a call during this timeframe. Nothing gets the blood pumping more than hearing a monster bull elk answer your guide's calls.
If luck is on your side, the bull might come charging in for an opportunity to release an arrow. Our archery and early muzzleloader or early rifle elk hunts are conducted mostly in higher timber elevations of 7000 to 8500 ft. Even though hunting is done in September and October, the weather during these hunts are very enjoyable. It can range from 65-75 degrees in the day to 35-45 degrees at night. Complimentary accommodations are in tent camps or camping trailer, depending upon the number of hunters in camp and feasibility. The camp and the hunt area is accessed by SUV or truck and hunting is done on foot. In most cases, elk live in mountainous terrain, so hunters should be physically prepared. Hunters are encouraged to condition themselves to the best of their ability in order to increase their odds for success. If you are looking for a horseback hunt, this is NOT the hunt for you. These three early hunts are placed during the rut when elk are vocal.

In need of a Northwestern California elk hunting guide? A Northwestern California bull elk tag is perhaps the most coveted Roosevelt tag in the state. Only a handful of bull and either-sex tags are up for lottery every year and the hunt unit is expansive. Low pressure, rutting bulls, and room to roam – what more could a hunter ask for? Our lodge hunts start the last week of October and run until the Sunday after Thanksgiving. This is the general season for Montana elk hunting. These hunts are less strenuous than the backcountry. The lodge is situated right above Deckard Flats, which is the main migratory route for the northern Yellowstone elk herd. We are surrounded by National Forest and just a 1/2 mile from the Yellowstone boundary. We hunt migrating elk as well as a healthy native herd. These guided hunts are 5 days in length.

Our rocky mountain elk hunts are featured in the heart of Arizona. Hunters need to be prepared to endure all possible weather conditions. It is important that clients be in good physical hiking condition to endure the Arizona terrain and to gain that edge to connect with your trophy bull.
We also offer cow elk hunts. Even though they have no antlers, the Rocky Mountain Cow Elk are a blast to hunt! Some like to call them "Meat Hunts." A huge mature cow can weigh as much as 500 pounds. These cow hunts can be as challenging as any other hunt, but your odds are higher. The recommended rifle calibers for cow elk are the .270 win. & .300 win. magnum with a good variable power scope. There isn’t a better archery hunt in North America than hunting rutting elk. We typically experience very high rates of opportunity; in the fall of 2023, 100% of our archery elk hunters had opportunities with an 80% success rate. We invite you to hunt with us on our well managed elk ranch that totals around 10,000 acres. Our properties are nestled into the foothills of the crazy mountains which are located in central Montana. Our goal is to limit the number of hunters we take which decreases pressure and increases success. Hunt tactics include a mixture of ground blinds, calling, and spot and stalk hunting.
While it is possible to access the property by vehicle, we try to minimize disturbance by utilizing horses and hiking when possible. Trophy potential varies depending on a number of factors including time of year, temperature, weather patterns etc. but most hunters have a chance at 5x5 and 6x6 bulls. We would classify this ranch as having moderate terrain as far as elk country is concerned. This means that you don’t have to climb thousands of feet every day to reach the elk. However, it is still elk country and the ranch is over 6000’ in elevation.
It is for this reason that we ask all hunters to make sure they show up in good physical condition. You will have more fun and your odds of success only increase by being in good shape. Hunt includes food, lodging and travel to and from the hunt area. Guests stay in a renovated, fully furnished four bedroom house in the town of White Sulphur Springs. We will provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In addition to cooking at the house there are great local eating options as well.

These are among the most rugged Montana elk hunts, and we often describe them as “extreme” hunts. Our hunts are guided in the Bob Marshall Wilderness and Swan Valley areas of Montana off of horseback. We also offer cow elk hunts. Even though they have no antlers, the Rocky Mountain Cow Elk, are a blast to hunt! Some like to call them "Meat Hunts". A huge mature cow can weigh as much as 500 pounds. These cow hunts can be as challenging as any other hunt, but your odds are higher. The recommended rifle calibers for cow elk are the .270 win. & .300 win. magnum with a good variable power scope. The average bull scores 300+ inches up to 400 inches depending on time frame of the season and unit. We only hunt for big mature bulls with the great possibility of harvesting a Pope and Young in the respected trophy units in Arizona. You will be given the same professional service no matter what the time frame is or the unit you will be hunting in.
We offer two types of rifle trips, for those who are lucky enough to draw an early season rifle tag. The early tag hunt will find you setting up on post rut bulls. This hunt is exciting for us as guides to find those bulls finishing up the rut. It is our chance to get within rifle distance of those bulls. Your guide will also utilize calling, spot and stalking, and setting up at strategic ambush sites. If a huge bull is your goal, then this trip will provide you with the opportunity to reach or exceed that goal.
Our late season hunt is slower paced than the early season hunt. We will spend time glassing up bulls and then making that stalk of a lifetime. We have done our homework and know just where these bulls go after the mating season has taken its toll on them. As these solitary bulls regain their mass after the rut season, it is not uncommon to find more than one bull though, making this a hunt that will give you the hunter an opportunity to pick your bull. Expect shots out to 800 yards.
Our early & late rifle season Arizona bull elk trips are currently running at 100% harvest rate with a 100% shooting opportunity. Our most productive methods of hunting these bulls is by glassing and stalking with an emphasis on glassing.

This is a unique hunt on private land where hunts are conducted out of 4x4 trucks, making it feasible for elderly folks or those with difficulty walking.
We have been operating out of our Candy Dan Camp for over 25 years. Constructed on the private ranch we hunt, located some 65 miles south of Great Falls, our base camp consists of a newly constructed cook house built in 2013, equipped with a full kitchen, buffet table, couches, hot and cold water, and a custom dining table for up to 12 hunters, three cabins for sleeping quarters for the hunters, a sauna house, and sleeping quarters for the guides. Camp is equipped with propane heat, electricity in all cabins, full shower/sauna, and WIFI!
DL Elk Outfitters conducts guided rifle elk hunts on over 70,000 private acres in the Big Belt Mountains in central Montana. These private lands are home to some of Montana’s largest resident elk herds. We are not dependent on migrations or heavy snows to push the elk out of areas we cannot hunt, giving our hunters a high chance of success. The country is rich in large grass meadows for feed to ridges and draws of timber, making excellent habitat. Elk hunters access the hunting areas by 4-wheel drive vehicles and hiking to vantage spots and glassing for bull elk. (No horses or pack strings here.)
Only bull elk with brow tines are legal in our area to harvest and that means 5, 6, and 7 point bulls are the norm here rather than the exception. Elk hunters average glassing more than 100 elk per week on our hunts. Mule Deer and Whitetail Deer are available on all elk hunts and make for a great combo. Our hunting leases, comfortable cabins, elevations under 6500 feet, and 4-wheel drive access make this an area any hunter regardless of age or physical condition can hunt. Our rifle elk hunts are all guided 2 hunters per guide unless prior arrangements are made. Elk and deer licenses are on a draw basis and have to be applied for to the state of Montana by March 15. Draw rates in recent years have been 100%.

2M Hunting offers world class Tule Elk hunts. We work with ranches and the state of California to receive guaranteed landowner tags for Tule elk bulls and cows. Every year we receive 5-10 bull tags and 3-5 cow tags. We target Trophy Bulls and manage the herd to keep the quality the best it can be year to year.
Our PLM ( private land management) tags are valid for use from July 1st – December 31st. Mid July through September is the peak of the rut. Bull elk hunts are scheduled for 10 days of hunting. Cow elk hunts are scheduled for two days of hunting.
Trophy bulls between 285” – 350”+ can be expected, with most all bulls making Boone and Crockett minimum. Expect to spend most days glassing long distances looking over lots of bulls. Spot and stalk methods are used. Maximum of 2 hunters. Lodging is included on bull Hunts.

R & R Ranch of Colorado, Inc. is owned by husband-and-wife team Jeff and Shari Kempton. Shari Kempton founded and was also the chairperson for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation - Gainesville, Florida Chapter for over a decade and both are still actively involved. Jeff has been guiding this ranch for the past 35 years and knows the land as well as the animal movements throughout the private 27,000-acre ranch. New alfalfa fields have been planted and water is supplied year round to ensure healthy and more resident animals.

All hunts are on PRIVATE PROPERTY located in Southeastern and South central Colorado. We offer both regular and late season hunts on the plains. We have over 300,000 acres available to hunt on these ranches. Lodging on the ranches is in comfortable houses.
These houses are part of the ranch and have showers and electricity, making a very nice hunting camp with home cooked meals and excellent guides. It is also possible to combine an Elk hunt or a Bison Hunt with a Mule or Whitetail Deer Hunt. As you can tell we are Trophy Deer hunters and our success and results speak for themselves. We have a long list of hunters with B&C bucks on their wall from our Eastern Plains hunts. The bucks are here and we know how to hunt them. We are constantly finding and opening new country for our clients.

There are few things that rival the excitement of hunting elk during the month of September. The bugle is a sound you’ll remember for the rest of your life. We are fortunate to have access to some of the best archery elk hunting in the state of Wyoming. Archery elk hunts begin around the second week of September and go through the end of the month.
There isn’t a better archery hunt in North America than hunting rutting elk. We typically experience very high rates of opportunity; in the fall of 2023, 100% of our archery elk hunters had opportunities with an 80% success rate. At Big Horn Outfitters, we take pride in being hardcore bowhunters ourselves and we have the staff, skills and hunting ground to get the job done. Archery elk hunts are 6 day hunts and can be extended for an additional daily fee.

Your stay with Fins and Feathers guide service will take place at the “ranch house”. The 4 bedroom 3 bath home is nestled in some of the most beautiful country that Douglas County has to offer. In the spring the surrounding hills and pastures are covered in fresh green grass. Oak trees covered in moss line the road to the lodge, among them you will find blooming daffodils in the spring and fall brings an array of autumn colors. No matter what season it is the setting is beautiful. The house has two televisions, one in the family room and the other in the master bedroom. The master bedroom has a separate entrance, deck, and hot tub.
Each morning a guide will wake you up and let you know how much time you have until your departure. Ronnie, Craig’s mom, or Becky, will do the majority or the cooking during your stay. Occasionally the staff at Applebee’s pitches in. Breakfast will be available along with coffee and other beverages. Meals are flexible and we do our best to accommodate your taste. Lunch is always available; however it will not always be served at the house. If you are with us during Turkey season we may be eating in town at lunch time because a lot of the hunting leases are a bit of a drive from the house. Dinner will be served each evening when your hunt is complete.
The house has two family rooms one with the television and the other a fireplace and two couches. Everyone here at the house strives to make your stay a lasting memory. We all enjoy what we do and getting to know all our guests. If you find pleasure in walking, the road’s on the ranch will be sure to satisfy you.

These are among the most rugged Montana elk hunts, and we often describe them as “extreme” hunts. Our hunts are guided in the Bob Marshall Wilderness and Swan Valley areas of Montana off of horseback. Our guides and horses have been preparing and getting shape all summer long on backcountry pack trips; elk season is what they’ve been waiting for!
Archery hunting elk, requiring close proximity to the animal, is, by its very nature, quite different from hunting these animals using a rifle. Successful archery hunts require excellent calling abilities and guides who know the difference between techniques utilized for archery versus rifle hunts.
Our elk herds are in better shape today than they have been in thirty years! Our hunting areas also support ample populations of whitetail and mule deer and color phase black bear, increasing the chances of success across species. This terrain is more challenging to hunt elk in, no doubt, no flat land here. We utilize our horses to search the front range of the Bob Marshall for elk. With exclusive access in the areas where we hunt, Swan Mountain Outfitters is able to offer archery elk hunters perhaps one of the most unique and best opportunities to bag an elk of a lifetime with a bow. As the season progresses, migration of elk begins and affords our late season elk hunters an opportunity to bag an elk at lower altitudes.
